Larry's Roast
Larry, with great reverence and irreverence, Wanda and I dedicate this page to you, and "Only You."

Hell (oops, that's "hail") to the Chief
My mind was in turmoil, turning my problems over and over in my mind, my husband was dying--I was faced with keeping a good attitude, thinking of the past memories, how would I ever deal with all of these thoughts.. I prayed daily for God to send an angel to help me..... drive, cook, give medication.. be a caregiver, just guide me everyday..
One day in February an "old friend" called to remind me of how long it had been since we had celebrated our class reunion--from there--Larry picked up my backpack and carried it to every dark path I went through, he had the lighted torch that has touched the life of my friends, family and my husband.. Larry told me he would check on me, he did and still does... Thanks Larry and Nancy for caring and letting God use you in my difficult situation ....Love You Wanda.
My, how that baby has grown!
Larry, time has erased a lot of the memories from FHS and the short year I had with our class of 1961. I did not go to the 25th reunion, which I now regret very much. I am so glad that I made it to the 40th. In preparation for this momentous event (to us, at least!), I came to rekindle a relationship with Wanda and also to develop one with you. This past year has been so much fun! You have been so supportive and just plain wonderful. It is beyond me how anyone who did his "thing" in math can be so talented and, ah, stinging, in the word game. It has given me great pleasure to create this page for you (or against you, as you will). The MOST fun, however, was in taunting you, nay, threatening you, continuously about doing this roast on you. LOL. No, I certainly was not alone in doing this. As with all journalists, however, I refuse to name my sources! I hope for a great future containing lots of mini-reunions with our classmates. Thanks for all you have done for us .....Bonnie
I do have a story, Hal was the bus driver, Larry and I were seated together. Hal thought Larry and I were having too much fun. Stopped the bus and told us he was taking us to the principal's office for being a disturbance. I may have been dating Hal at the time and that could have had something to do with it. I cannot remember if he took us to the office or not .....Gale

Larry is in the back of the bus, in a beret and sunglasses and number four in the row of people down the right side of the aisle as you face the back of the bus |

I really LOVE the great website of my dad!!!
You know, we always kid each other about him being such a nerd in high school (although I followed in his footsteps and also became a fellow computer geek myself.)
I learn more and more about him and how funny/charming/sassy he was and still is.
I sincerely hope to follow in his footsteps in those areas as well.
I guess we all have funny 'Larry' stories - I know that his children do.
He is a wonderful dad to us, and I'm sure lucky to have had such a fun father!!!
He is a hoot, isn't he? : )
Sincerely, Jennifer Anders Fowler
P.S. For years and years, I have heard of this "Peggy" person, and how she was my dad's one date from high school and college.
Because of your picture of them, I guess I will have to believe him now when he talks of her (hee hee!!!)
