John and Alexandra Bush,
Prayer Letter

February 7, 2002

We've mentioned to you Andrei and Irena--the Christian couple here that have been such a gift from God to us, and we want to share a great praise with you. As in the US, the tech sector here has been rocky lately and Andrei is a computer guru. Even with his computer skills and excellent command of the English language, he's had trouble finding a job. Although he has been able to do some contract work, we rejoice that God has provided a full-time job for him within the last week as a sales manager at a computer store.

Irena has been coming once a week or so to help me practice reading the Bible in Russian. We are reading from John--still in chapter one. Ira has such a lilting voice and the Bible sounds beautiful when she reads it. When I read aloud in Russian I feel like I'm speaking klingon, like Star Trek! Last week, Ira shared with me about a friend of hers, Misha. He has been involved in the occult, yet had expressed curiosity about Jesus. We have been praying for Misha. Last Sunday he attended the worship service at Church of the Holy Trinity, and gave his life to Christ. He and John are getting together soon to "pogovorit" (talk a bit about) his new birth.

We've begun a small webpage about our family in Kyiv that we invite you to visit. On it is our most recent family picture from Christmas and a picture of Andrei, Irena, and their son Alysha. http://www.angelfire.com/on4/bushfamily

Thank you for your continued encouragement and support while we are in Kyiv.

Love,
John and Alexandra Bush
and the boys

* Andrei and Irena and other believers as they share the Gospel with their friends

* As always, our language learning.

* Wisdom in finding a "dyetski sad" (kindergarten) for Johnny.

* The children have been adjusting phenomenally well!

* God has given us a circle of Ukrainian friends who are so gentle with us, and helping us transition into the culture.
